Wuhan-designed 10,000-tonne green coastal bulk carrier makes global debut

Photo shows the world's first 10,000-tonne near-shore new energy bulk carrier, which made its maiden voyage on Dec. 29, 2025, in Binzhou, Shandong Province. It marks a milestone breakthrough in the research, development, and application of near-shore new energy vessels in China. The bulk carrier was designed and developed by the Green & Smart River-Sea-Going Ship Cruise and Yacht Research Center at Wuhan University of Technology.
