Nationwide fish release campaign kicks off in Wuhan
A total of 666 Chinese sturgeons and 2,000 copper fish were released into the Yangtze River in Wuhan on June 6, 2026. The event marked the launch of a nationwide fish release campaign on Saturday, the 12th National Fish Releasing Day. Meanwhile, 35 cities across China jointly helped over one million rare native fish return to their natural habitats.
